Rune Factory 5 Gets A March Release Date for Switch

XSEED has announced the release date for Rune Factory 5. The new title in the farming sim/action RPG series is coming west on March 22, 2022. The date was revealed in a very brief moment of the Nintendo Direct today, not really being a highlight of the stream.

Rune Factory 5 is the latest title in the long-running franchise that started as a spin-off of Bokujou Monogatari, the Marvelous series previously known as Harvest Moon in the West. The series is currently known as Story of Seasons, and Rune Factory is pretty much its own thing celebrating its 15th anniversary this year.

The new game promises to take the series to new heights, with a 3D perspective, a big world and many things to do.  As a peacekeeping ranger who lost their memory, it’ll be up to the player to talk to the townsfolk, help them, fight monsters and do various tasks. Along the way, it’ll be possible to pick an NPC to be your wife or husband and they will also be helpful to fulfilling those duties.

It’s interesting to point out the game is meant to improve drastically on the series’ usual combat, and one of its new features is combination attacks. Also, it’s interesting to point out the new trailer shows marriage between the female MC and Beatrice. Check it out below:
